CollegeSeen recognizes exceptional photos that tell the story of the California Community Colleges, as seen through the eyes of students. Our Submission Categories have been designed to elicit representative views of the Community Colleges. Photographs of everyday campus life, classroom scenes, and people in action are highly encouraged.
You may submit up to seven photographs, one for each category.
1. Campus Experience
Give us a glimpse of your college experience. Photos may include depictions of classroom instruction, student interaction, extracurricular activities, or community impact.
2. Campus Elements
What do you see when you imagine your college campus? The primary subject of these photographs should be a human-made structure or an object that represents an essential element of your campus.
3. News and Events
This category encompasses any image that captures a special event on campus—from performing arts to sporting events to graduation.
4. Career Preparation/Work Experience
Community Colleges provide a launching pad for students pursuing a new career and a better life. Images in this category may come from work study programs, internships, or career-oriented courses, such as programs for health care, firefighting, and automotive technology.
5. Technology and Learning
How is your college incorporating technology into the learning environment? The photos in this category should make a statement about the interaction between people and technology on your campus.
6. Portrait and Personality
These photographs should focus on one primary person and capture an aspect of the subject’s character or role.
7. Conceptual
Take a look at your college with a creative eye. Photos may be abstract and should be based on your individual interpretation of the California Community College experience.
Entry Guidelines
Submit up to SEVEN photos, one for each category.
- Images may be in color or black-and-white, RGB color mode.
- All images must be submitted online in JPG format.
- File resolution must be a minimum of 1600 x 1200 pixels or larger.
- File size should be no lower than 1mb and limited to 15mb.
- Except with respect to cropping or resizing, digital editing of images is discouraged.
